What if objects could be one thing and, at the same time, something else?
And by entering into relationships with one another, escaped the categories that define them?
What is familiar becomes unexpected.
And new logics become possible.

ERK14 was born in Carmagnola in 1986 and lives and works in Naples. An artist, art director and designer, after eleven years working in communication agencies across Naples, Rome and Milan, creating his own streetwear brand and collaborating as a designer with fashion labels, in 2014 he devoted himself entirely to artistic research, driven by the need to explore the dynamics of everyday life. This marked the beginning of an intensive iconological investigation into the symbolism of everyday objects, associated with impulses and accidental dynamics.
Objects and colours become the protagonists of works that approach the exploration of life as a therapeutic act through pictorial accumulations: a vast repository of memory independent of historical or chronological narration. Rather than offering a single interpretation, ERK14 points to the infinite possibilities contained within each work, leaving viewers free to develop their own vision and construct new narratives.
Beginning with a rigorous use of black and white, an apparently graphic approach and semantic simplification, in 2020 the artist began experimenting with colour as a medium capable of creating greater empathy with the viewer. It became a way of opening himself to the world, embracing its countless nuances and dissolving ideal boundaries and physical lines of separation through colour, while taking on the uncertainties we all face in life. For ERK14, the blank canvas becomes an open door onto different paths and infinite possibilities.
